Node is up but Overall hardware status unknown

Dear Team,

 

I add one ip in solarwinds NPM, after  adding, it is showing "hardware status unknown" . i am not able to see the interfaces traffic utilization as showing "No data available"

 

but node added successfully in the NPM. i check the SNMP community string ,test is also successful.

 

what will be the reason for these, any Device poller issue.

 

Please check the attached file for better idea.

Can't connect to vCenter 5.1

I am trying to add vCenter 5.1 to our SolarWinds system. We current have a vCenter 4 in there and is working fine, but we are looking to upgrade to vCenter 5. I have vCenter 5 all setup, but SolarWinds will not connect to it when I provide it valid credentials. The only differance between the two vCenters is that vCenter 5.1 is on the Appliance from VMware while vCenter 4 is on Windows. Has anyone else had this issue? Or does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

 

We are currently running Orion Code 2012.2.0 and NCM 7.1.1.

the interface on my router that connects to the lan is receiving loads of input errors, all of them are overruns what could be causing that and how would i go about stopping them?

Hi

 

I'm getting an error when testing Exchange 2007-2010 Statistics with PowerShell on Exchange 2010 SP1.

 

Error:

Testing on node EXCHANGEMAILBOXSERVER: failed with 'Down' status.

Output:   =====================================

Message: Wrong version argument. Should be 2007 or 2010.

 

Orion is installed on Windows 2008 R2 and exchange management tools are installed.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Interface Disappeared

Hi everybody,

 

I don't know why but all the interfaces' status of switches in the network have been changed to "Interface Disappeared". Does anyone have any idea in this regard?

I am using version 10.0 of NPM.

I've been playing around another idea:

 

To manually set the secondary IP Address of each machine as a Custom property, and then use it in the HTTP Monitor on my template.

It's still very "manual", but saves the time it takes to drill into the HTTP Monitor inside the template of each node and bypass the ${IP} macro.

 

However - I can't seem to get SAM's HTTP Monitor to use this custom property as a macro variable.

Am I missing something, or is it simply not supported?

I am getting a little tired of walking away from my desk, looking at another  tab or screen, or doing something that doesn't involve actively poking around the Alert Central dash constantly and then having to log right back in. is there a way to set the timeout longer than 5 minutes?

I would like to create an alert that will run a Triage report for that node and create a PDF.

Any suggestions ?  I assume I will most likely have to Execute an external program.

Issue adding notes to tickets using the REST API

I was using web help desk 11 and leveraging the REST API pretty heavily for some automation I have. I recently updated to Web Help Desk 12 and the automation is failing completely. Using the same JSON, I can't add notes to tickets any more. I have a bug with the developers to fix it, but I'm wondering if there are any users on the new version that have the API working. Perhaps I can update my JSON to get around the issue.

David,

 

This error is due to scheduler unable to login to report web with the credentials provided. Please check if the credentials used for running the report in report scheduler are valid and are working fine and have adequate permissions.

I have contacted Loop 1 and Corona Services. Are their others?

This may be worth additional conversation with me offline or with a Sales Engineer, but if I understand your question correctly I think you are using thinking about FoE and APE incorrectly.

I have run into this issue on several occasions, usually when the server has experienced some kind of change or issue. This included a VMotion (in a virtual environment) that caused some issues, as well as a reboot after patching and some module updates. Normally I was logged into the server as myself, and when I tried to troubleshoot the issue as myself, I did not have success. I eventually discovered the problem, and then used it going forward on numerous occasions. We had set up a network account for our Orion environment, and the reports were set to run daily under this account. I logged onto the server using this account, and then opened up each report with the account and resaved it (and re-entered the credentials upon saving). To test, I then ran each report for delivery immediately and verified, since I had myself as a recipient on each report to make sure they ran daily. It was almost like I had to reapply the credentials occasionally.
